Important note: The following information is for the groups / clubs / websites only. Individuals are free to join us by registering on our forums.
Only STAR WARS groups or websites can become members of S.W.O.R.A.. Individual fans are welcome to become members of the S.W.O.R.A. forums.
If you would like your group or website to become a member of S.W.O.R.A., you may either:
1. contact one of the member countries' representatives and introduce yourself
OR
2. email application@swora.net and introduce yourself.
In your introduction, please include the following details: your country of origin, how old your group/website is, what is its primary interest and what are your achievements as a STAR WARS fan group so far.
Once we receive your application, the S.W.O.R.A. Council will process it.
Application Processing
The S.W.O.R.A. Council will process your membership application as quickly as possible. The following rules apply to all applicants prior to acceptance or rejection of the application:
1. The first and foremost rule that applies at this point is that the applying group's website should be primarily a STAR WARS site. This will determine if your group/website is eligible to join.
2. Only one member from each country can join. However, this rule may be waived under the circumstance below:
The application of a second group can be processed only if the first group (Country Spokesperson of S.W.O.R.A.) from that country accepts the application of another group.
3. The applying group/website must have a regularly updated website.
4. The applying group/website would preferably have an active forum.
If all the S.W.O.R.A. Council members accept the application of the group/website, that group becomes an official member of S.W.O.R.A..
Requirements from Member Groups/Websites:
Once your website is accepted as a S.W.O.R.A. member:
1. you will be asked to place the banner and the link of S.W.O.R.A. on your website.
This banner will redirect visitors to a standard S.W.O.R.A. introductory webpage.
Information about the S.W.O.R.A. Standard Webpage: You will be provided with this page by the S.W.O.R.A. Council. The webpage will have general information about S.W.O.R.A. and the "constitution".
You will be asked to translate the webpage into your own language, update it as required and host the webpage on your website.
Except for general information, there will be no S.W.O.R.A. news displayed on the webpage except another link which redirects the visitors to the official S.W.O.R.A. website.
However, you are free to post any S.W.O.R.A. related news on your website.
2. you will be asked to announce your alliance with S.W.O.R.A. on your main page and/or forums.
It is welcome, though not mandatory, for a website to have an English-only section of the forum, since the alliance membership will increase the number of international visitors and traffic.
3. you must attend the monthly international chat session.
As the administrator/representative of your country:
1. you will be provided with a contact list of all the member countries for easier communication. The list will be updated each time a new member joins.
2. you will receive access to the private moderation section of the S.W.O.R.A. forums. Important decisions concerning S.W.O.R.A. will be made within that section.
